The National Convention is only four weeks away!
Terrific News: We have secured our headline speaker for the Grand Banquet! It's Kmele Foster, one of the co-hosts on the new hit (libertarian) show on FBN, "The Independents." He's young and intelligent and has a knack for expressing libertarian positions in an eloquent manner. I first caught him on FOX's "Red Eye" and have been "eyeing" him for a few years. Don't miss this opportunity to see and hear this important figure in the libertarian movement.
The dynamic Ben Swann will be the emcee of the Banquet program, which will also feature "Ben Franklin" himself, plus arias by "the Red Diva" Elizabeth Gentner; and we will also honor our 2012 presidential ticket of Gov. Gary Johnson and Judge Jim Gray. You will not want to miss this highlight of the convention!
The Thursday night "Welcome" Reception will be a lot more than just mingling. We have booked two professional entertainers: comedian Joe DeVito and singer/songwriter Tatiana Moroz (both libertarians). It promises to be a wonderful evening to jump-start the weekend.
It's been a challenge (for me and for our hardworking webmaster) to keep the convention website updated with new information. [This is particularly difficult right now: because of the purchase of a new office property, LPHQ is moving and must be out of the Watergate on the 31st — just two days from now.]
Besides the speakers and entertainers currently on the website, we will also give face-time (as part of the Breakfast and Lunch programs and some on the convention "floor") to a number of high-profile LP candidates from around the country. And there will be at least one panel of elected Libertarians to share the challenges and successes of their experiences in office.
Don't forget: You do not have to be a credentialed delegate to attend! Buy a Gold package to see and hear every one of the guest speakers and entertainers.
The cutoff date to reserve rooms at the Hyatt Regency Columbus is June 5. (After that, rooms will still be at our discounted rate, but "based on availability.") A discount has also been negotiated with a local taxi company just for our attendees for airport transportation. (The specifics will be added ASAP to the convention website.)
Don't miss this chance to be with hundreds of other Libertarians; it will be a memorable weekend that you don't want to miss! I hope to see many new faces.
