Rediscovering
Our Principles, Reclaiming Our Future
A presentation by Michael Pochek
Based on a book by Matthew Spalding, of The Heritage Foundation
Constitutionalism:
The Architecture of Limited Government
The bedrock of a civil society is based on
the expression of human nature through voluntary exchanges. These
exchanges are rooted in the merits of common law; those that allow the
establishment of a commercial republic. The construct of the United States
Constitution explicitly bounds the expansion of power at the national
level. The framework of the Constitution provides for the adaptation of
society without the violation of the checks and balances put in place to
protect the civil society from oppression of central governance.
