Austin Petersen
is the CEO of Stonegait Pictures, LLC., a for-profit consulting firm that provides high end video and photography as well as social media consulting services for a wide range of clients. Formerly an Associate Producer for Judge Andrew Napolitano's show, "Freedom Watch" on the Fox Business Network. Petersen built and managed Judge Napolitano's social networks, boasting over 200,000 fans and millions of clicks a month. Petersen grew up on a farm in Peculiar, Missouri. After graduating from Missouri State University with a degree in the Fine Arts, Petersen moved to New York City to a pursue a career in media. After three years of working in the entertainment business, Austin became engaged in politics during the 2008 Presidential election cycle and moved to Washington DC to accept a job at the Libertarian National Committee. Petersen pursued limited government solutions to national problems by fielding candidates for public office working for the Libertarian National Committee for a year. With a focus on building grassroots movements nationally, Austin used his previous experience in the entertainment business to produce activism politically in support of Presidential Candidate Ron Paul. Through social media and a newly developed internship program, he effectively doubled the size and scope of the activism portion of the Libertarian Party from 2008-2009. After a successful run in third party politics, he was asked to join the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in 2009 as the New Media Program Manager and Video Producer. Atlas is a free market think tank whose purpose is to facilitate the spread of libertarian ideas by supporting other think tanks around the world. At Atlas, Austin built a high definition video and photo production studio, produced several video and photo shoots, ran campaign operations, and helped coordinate events. After his time with Atlas he joined the Fox Business Network in 2010 and returned to New York City. Dave Roland is the Director of Litigation and co-founder of the Freedom Center of Missouri; he also serves as the Secretary for the Freedom Center’s Board of Directors. Dave earned undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Biblical Studies at Abilene (TX) Christian University before studying law and religion at Vanderbilt University, where he received his law degree and a Master’s in Theology in 2004. While at Vanderbilt, Dave wrote a series of essays for the Freedom Forum’s First Amendment Center about the First Amendment and public education, and he clerked for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty in Washington, DC. Following law school, Dave spent more than three years in the nation’s capital as an attorney with the Institute for Justice, where he litigated school choice, economic liberty, and property rights cases in state and federal courts. His work has been discussed in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and other major newspapers nationwide; since he moved to Missouri in 2007 Dave has become a familiar presence on radio shows and in newspapers across the state. He has traveled widely in the state of Missouri, arguing before the state supreme court, speaking to elected officials, student groups at colleges and law schools, Federalist Society chapters, and community groups about education, property rights, health care reform, constitutional protections for liberty, and the American Founders’ conception of virtue. Prior to founding the Freedom Center, he spent three years working as an attorney and policy analyst for the Show-Me Institute. He lives in St. Louis with his wife, Jenifer, and can be reached at dave@mofreedom.org.
